Chhetey Gurung has a career in fitness spanning close to three decades, and in this time she has had the opportunity to train her students in a diverse range of techniques - from aerobics, piloxing, spinning, HIIT and more recently in power yoga and yin yoga.
Chhetey's journey as a fitness professional saw her start as an instructor at Banu's Fitness center in 1994. Since then she has conducted classes at various other fitness centers, including at her own fitness and wellness center which she ran from 2000 - 2008. In addition to training her students, Chhetey has taken several instructor training classes such as piloxing and yin yoga, under masters based in Nepal, Malaysia and Bali.
Her wealth of experience and range of techniques today stands for her caring deeply about her students, since there is nothing of more value to her than helping somebody go through an experience that makes them happy, confident and strong. Chhetey believes that everybody deserves the right to good health and to be happy inside and out.
And that is what she has been trying inculcate in her students recently at the US Embassy and Club Phora since 2015 and 2016 respectively where her yoga and HIIT classes are a favorite among members. She also volunteered her time to give free virtual classes to members of Phora, friends and family during the COVID lockdowns.
